About Claire
Claire Lynn is a 7th generation Oregonian and a proud Siuslaw High School graduate. Claire’s family has been logging on the Oregon Coast for 6-generations, and still operates R&R King Logging/Crown Alaska Inc. based out of Florence.
Claire was raised on the North Fork of the Siuslaw River where her family runs a cow-calf operation and produces their own hay in the summers. Claire grew up with a love for the outdoors, spending every fall hunting and fishing with her Dad.
After high school, Claire worked for the City of Florence where she helped plan the ceremony honoring Florence as the 24th Coast Guard City in the United States and the first Block Party honoring Florence’s 125th Anniversary as a City.
Claire attended college at Oregon State University and is a proud Beaver Alumni. During college, Claire interned for former Oregon Congressman Greg Walden and served on the City of Florence’s Community and Economic Development Committee.
Claire has since gained professional experience working on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, and in the Oregon State Legislature in Salem, always keeping her rural Oregon roots and natural resource background at the forefront. Claire has also worked on several political campaigns, striving to bring more balance to Oregon and common sense to Salem. Claire currently works as the Legislative Director for the Oregon House Republican Office.

As all local kids do growing up, Claire loved the history and legacy of the Rhododendron Festival. Claire joined the Rhododendron Court her senior year of high school, carrying on the legacy of her Mom and Great-Grandma before her, and has remained involved by helping coordinate the annual Rhododendron Court trip to the Oregon State Capitol.
Claire is currently a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Lane County advocating for children in the juvenile court system as a result of abuse or neglect, and has volunteered as a guardian with South Willamette Valley Honor Flight which provides a cost-free trip for veterans to our nation's Capitol.
Claire considers herself blessed to still have both sets of grandparents in her life — Bobby and Kay King in Florence, and Gary and Karin Waggoner in Reedsport.
Claire and her husband, Brodey, currently live outside of Elmira. She is running for State Representative to ensure families like hers can continue to live, work and thrive on Oregon’s South-Central Coast.
